Are Dogs from Pet shops from Puppy Mills?
I bought a Shihtzu Puppy four years ago from a pet shop. She has been healthy in her life. Do you think she was from a Puppy Mill? I know a lot of Pet Shops get their animals from Puppy Mills. But do you think that their is a chance that she wasn’t from a Puppy Mill? Just want to know what you guys think?
In most cases, yes, they come from puppy mills.
Even if they don’t come from a puppy mill, they DO come from very unreliable breeders. No responsible breeder will ever sell their pups to a pet shop. Good breeders want to place their pups in a good home. They ask the potential owners questions and make themselves available to give advice and help throughout the dogs’ lives.
There is a chance she didn’t come from a puppy mill, but it’s not a good one. Still, if she’s healthy and has a good temperament, it doesn’t matter. You got a dog you love and that’s all that counts in the end. I wouldn’t buy from a pet shop again if I were you though. You were really lucky to get a healthy puppy from a pet shop.
